Emerging defense innovator Aventra has secured $3 million in new funding to advance its plan to convert traditional, unguided bombs into autonomous long-range strike weapons. The technology aims to achieve a maximum range of 3,000 miles, combining artificial intelligence with aerodynamic efficiency.
The company’s solution, called the Piranha Glide Kit, attaches to existing munitions and integrates lightweight wings and precision-guidance modules. This modular design allows forces to upgrade legacy inventories at minimal cost while delivering enhanced accuracy and flexibility.
Aventra’s unique deployment concept uses stratospheric balloons launched to 80,000 feet, allowing the glide kit to capitalize on upper-atmosphere wind patterns for extended travel distances. The innovation could reshape how militaries execute precision strikes, offering a low-cost, long-reach alternative to cruise or hypersonic missiles.
