The US Army has awarded AeroVironment a contract to supply its flagship Switchblade loitering munition systems. The business, which ordered the kamikaze drone in its 300 and 600 variants last year, was given a five-year project that included the $288-million deal. If every option is used, the long-term structure will be worth $990 million. The first order was already placed with AeroVironment in August 2024. Then, last month, a second request was made public.
