The TCG Murat Reis (S-332), Turkey’s third Reis-class submarine, has officially launched at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard in Kocaeli. Developed as part of a six-vessel fleet based on the German Type 214 design, this milestone supports Turkey’s aim to modernize its navy. The event took place during two important anniversaries—the Conquest of Istanbul and the founding of the Turkish Air Force—symbolizing national pride and military advancement. With earlier milestones already met for the lead and second vessels, the country plans to launch one new submarine each year through 2028.
