Naval Group has launched the HS Formion (F-603), marking the third installment of the Kimon-class frigates being built for the Hellenic Navy. The launch at the Lorient facility represents a significant step toward finalizing the warship, which will undergo detailed outfitting before being delivered to Athens.
The frigate now includes advanced technologies like the Panoramic Sensors and Intelligence Module and a steel-integrated mast, designed to offer real-time, 360-degree situational awareness during maritime missions. This launch underscores Greece’s strategic investment in advanced naval assets capable of both surveillance and high-intensity combat roles.
