For the Danish Coastal Rescue Service, Denmark has hired Norwegian shipyard Maritime Partner to produce seven Sjøbjørn 71 vessels. The upcoming fleet will have a “major role” in supporting the force’s more than 600 yearly operations in Danish territory, especially in the Kattegat and portions of the Baltic Sea. From stations in Anholt, Gedser, Grenå, Nexø, Østerby, Rønne, and Skagen, the new vessels—which will be formally commissioned as the Danish Rescue Vessels (DRV)—will perform salvage, maritime aid, and emergency response duties.
