MKU Limited has received a major Indian Army contract valued at ₹6.6 billion ($75 million) to deliver nearly 30,000 Netro NW 3000 Night Vision Weapon Sights. The selection follows extensive field trials where the system demonstrated exceptional performance, resilience, and accuracy across diverse terrains. The deal, processed through the Ministry of Defence’s emergency powers, exemplifies ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing under the IDDM framework.

Specifically designed for Indian Army assault rifles, the Netro NW 3000 sight provides soldiers with enhanced clarity, improved detection range, and reliable target engagement in adverse lighting conditions. The technology is part of MKU’s dedicated Netro Optronics portfolio and supports the shift toward modernizing soldier systems for all-weather operations. MKU said its focus on local design and production helps reinforce India’s capability edge in battlefield environments.

This order supports India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision to reduce defense import dependency by prioritizing indigenous procurement and innovation. Recent deals for thermal imagers, high-tech drones, and advanced artillery systems demonstrate a commitment to local defense technology. MKU, a global supplier of protection and electro-optics solutions, confirmed that future investments will target expanded domestic production, furthering the nation’s modernization and readiness for next-generation conflicts.
