US defense contractor Eureka Naval Craft is joining forces with Singapore’s Strategic Marine to build a new class of multi-role modular warships in Asia. The vessels are being marketed to the US Navy and regional allies as versatile alternatives to traditional platforms.
Leading the initiative is the Aircat Bengal MC, a 36-meter surface effect ship engineered to take on missions typically conducted by larger frigates and corvettes. Its smaller size allows for greater mobility and lower operating costs.
The vessel is designed with multi-mission capability, supporting roles such as troop movement, landing operations, drone deployment, electronic warfare, and mine countermeasures. Its flexible configuration enables rapid adaptation to different missions.
With this project, the partners aim to meet the growing demand for agile, modular naval assets that can operate effectively in contested maritime environments without relying solely on traditional large warships.
