Ukraine’s counter-drone capabilities are receiving a boost with the deployment of AIR SPEED, a high-velocity interceptor drone developed by General Cherry. The system is designed to rapidly detect and engage hostile unmanned aerial vehicles, addressing the growing threat posed by drones on the modern battlefield.

Capable of reaching speeds of up to 236 km/h, AIR SPEED is engineered to intercept fast, low-flying targets that often evade conventional air defenses. Its compact 8-inch airframe enhances agility and control, enabling precise maneuvers during high-speed pursuits and engagements.

The interceptor is intended to counter a wide spectrum of aerial threats, from kamikaze drones and commercial quadcopters to military reconnaissance UAVs. It can also engage fixed-wing surveillance drones, including ZALA, Supercam, Eagles, and Lancet loitering munitions, making it a flexible tool for frontline air defense.

According to General Cherry, AIR SPEED has already been fielded in combat and has shown strong performance against enemy UAVs conducting both surveillance and strike missions. The system expands the company’s counter-drone portfolio, operating alongside the BULLET interceptor, designed for long-range Shahed threats, and the AIR Pro, which features a larger 10-inch configuration.

General Cherry added that AIR SPEED is now accessible via the Brave1 defense innovation platform, streamlining procurement and deployment for Ukrainian forces seeking fast and cost-effective counter-drone solutions.
